ForensicVideoTriage v1.0.5

written by woany on Thursday, November 05 2009

This should have been released ages ago, but I must have forgotten about it, and I forgot to release v1.0.4, so the changes list includes v1.0.4 and v1.0.5 changes.

Changes

  • Modified the listview updating, since it didn't work if the filename wasn't unique, so now it uses the file path
  • Set better default options e.g. frame rate = 1/10 and the preamble skip is now 0
  • Modified the video processing to extract the video duration
  • Rewrote the report generation so that in seperate folder mode a HTML file is generated in both the top level output directory and in the individual output folders
  • Rewrote the report generation so that in the single output folder mode a HTML file is produced for each movie/video file
  • Added Duration column to the CSV output
  • Added a new HTML report that is produced once the processing is complete. The HTML report contains the file name, size, duration and the number of still snapshot images extracted. The idea of the report is to aid the detection when the still snapshot extraction fails, so a comparision between the duration and the number of stills produced can be compared
